Extra wide soundproof curtain – Silent Curtain Feltra
NOTE! Curtains are sold individually.
Silent Curtain Feltra in extra wide designs has been developed for environments where standard widths are not sufficient. With widths of up to 980 cm, this sound-absorbing curtain creates a continuous, heavy, and effective textile surface that dampens reverberation, reduces sound levels, and gives the room a softer, more controlled soundscape. The extra width makes the curtain particularly suitable for larger windows, glass walls, open floor plans, and professional environments where both acoustics and aesthetics must perform at a high level.
Silent Curtain Feltra is sewn in Sweden by experienced tailors with great precision in every detail. The curtain is made from European-produced 100% polyester material, with the front consisting of a heavy, densely woven velour fabric. The deep texture of the velour gives an exclusive drape and a visual calm that is further enhanced by the large width. The combination of high material mass and advanced construction makes this curtain one of the most effective textile options for sound absorption in large rooms.
Extra wide construction for effective sound absorption
The extra width of the Silent Curtain Feltra provides a significant acoustic advantage over narrower curtains. A larger contiguous textile surface means that more sound energy is absorbed, reducing echo and reverberation in the room. The curtain is constructed in several layers with heavy velour on the front and an acoustic fleece layer on the back, creating an effective combination of sound absorption and sound diffusion.
In larger environments such as offices, schools, hotels, restaurants, conference rooms, and open-plan offices, the extra-wide curtain contributes to improved speech clarity, lower noise stress, and a more pleasant working environment. In homes with large windows or open floor plans, it creates a noticeably calmer atmosphere without compromising the interior design.
Optional blackout for light control and improved acoustics
Silent Curtain Feltra is available in extra wide designs, both with and without a sewn-in blackout layer. With blackout, light transmission is blocked completely down to 0 lux, making the curtain ideal for environments where total light control is required, such as bedrooms, hotel rooms, conference rooms, and studios.
The blackout layer also contributes to increased sound absorption by increasing the total weight and density of the curtain. Without blackout, the curtain allows a very limited amount of light to pass through, usually around 5–10 lux depending on the color, creating a soft and pleasant lighting environment while maintaining the acoustic function.
Extra wide curtain with heat-insulating properties
In addition to improving the sound environment, Silent Curtain Feltra acts as an effective heat-insulating solution. The high material mass and dense structure help to reduce heat radiation through windows and glass sections. Tests show that heat penetration can be reduced by up to 37 percent, creating a more even and comfortable indoor climate.
In practice, this means cooler rooms during hot periods and reduced heat loss during colder seasons. The extra-wide curtain is therefore particularly suitable for large rooms where climate control is otherwise difficult to achieve with traditional textiles.
Colors, sizes, and customization
Silent Curtain Feltra is available in ten carefully selected colors that are designed to work in both private and professional environments. The color palette ranges from light, neutral tones to deeper, more expressive shades that enhance the character of the room.
The extra-wide curtain is available in widths of 280 cm, 420 cm, 560 cm, 700 cm, 840 cm, and 980 cm, and lengths of 180 cm, 250 cm, 300 cm, and 350 cm. The combination of many widths and lengths makes it possible to create tailor-made solutions for large areas, without seams that affect both aesthetics and function.
Flexible suspension and professional drape
Silent Curtain Feltra is equipped with multi-bands that provide full flexibility when hanging. The curtain can be mounted with finger hooks, gathering tape hooks, or directly on the curtain rod. There are also hidden fabric loops on the back that create an even, wave-shaped drape when the curtain is hung.
The heavy weight combined with the extra width provides a stable and elegant drape that retains its shape over time. The curtain works equally well as a screen, in front of large windows, or as sound-absorbing fabric in front of a wall.
Swedish manufacturing, certified quality, and long life
Silent Curtain Feltra is manufactured in Sweden and meets strict requirements for quality, safety, and durability. The fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and manufactured in accordance with REACH directives, which means that the product is free from harmful substances and safe to use in sensitive environments.
The curtain meets relevant fire requirements according to EN 1021-1, EN 1021-2, BS 5852 Part 1:1979, and CAL TB 117. The robust construction ensures that both color, shape, and acoustic performance are maintained even with daily use over many years.
