Sustainability is a fundamental part of how we at SilentDirect develop our business. We focus on material selection, supplier requirements, packaging, transportation, recycling, and energy-efficient operations to combine effective sound solutions with responsible use of resources.

This effort encompasses the entire process, from raw materials and procurement to the final delivery. A large portion of our products is made from polyester fiber containing at least 50 percent recycled content, while wood-based materials come from FSC- and PEFC-certified forests. We also monitor our suppliers’ certifications, traceability, and labeling.

Through size-optimized packaging, well-considered transportation choices, source separation of waste materials, and energy-efficient solutions in our own operations, we aim to reduce unnecessary resource consumption. Efficient Packaging and Fewer Shipments
To reduce unnecessary resource consumption, we use smart, size-optimized packaging that minimizes empty space in our shipments. This allows more packages to fit into each shipment, resulting in fewer shipments and a lower carbon footprint.

Responsible Recycling
We sort and recycle at every level of our operations—from warehouses and offices to break rooms. This is a natural part of our environmental efforts and contributes to a circular economy where resources are efficiently reused.

Green IT – Sustainable Server Operations
Our servers are powered exclusively by eco-labeled electricity from 100% renewable sources. This means that our digital infrastructure has a minimal impact on the climate and meets high environmental standards.

Climate-Compensated Transportation
We partner with DHL, which offsets the carbon emissions from its operations by investing in sustainable development projects in developing countries. This ensures that our transportation is as environmentally friendly as possible.

Locally Produced Products and Sustainable Supplier Selection
We strive to manufacture our products ourselves to the greatest extent possible and primarily work with Swedish suppliers. If a Swedish supplier is not available, we seek alternatives in the Nordic region, then in Europe, and as a last resort, outside Europe. In this way, we minimize transportation emissions and ensure high quality in our products.

Energy-Efficient Lighting
To reduce our energy consumption, we use LED lighting in all our facilities. LED lights have a significantly longer lifespan and lower energy consumption than traditional lighting, which contributes to more sustainable energy use.

Sustainable forestry – FSC® and PEFC-certified materials
A large portion of our materials comes from sustainably managed forests. We partner with suppliers certified under FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), which ensures that our products are responsibly sourced.

What does FSC® certification mean?
FSC® is an international organization that works to promote sustainable forestry that takes ecological, social, and economic aspects into account. Our suppliers hold FSC® certificates, which guarantee that the raw materials come from responsibly managed forests where biodiversity and local communities are respected. Our products may carry the following labels:

FSC® 100%
The product consists exclusively of FSC®-certified raw materials.

FSC® Mix
A portion of the product consists of FSC®-certified raw materials.

FSC® Controlled Wood
Material that is not certified but still meets FSC® requirements for controlled forest management.

What does PEFC certification mean?
PEFC is a global forest certification system that aims to promote sustainable forestry. Our suppliers have been PEFC-certified since 2018, which means that the materials in our products comply with strict environmental requirements and that forestry is conducted in a way that takes biodiversity, social aspects, and economic sustainability into account.

How We Ensure Sustainable Sourcing
Our suppliers follow strict guidelines to ensure sustainable forestry:
