Bäst effekt har gardinen/rumsavdelare innanför dörren i ett rum om det är där ifrån ljudet man vill dämpa kommer ifrån.
Det kommer även funka om man sätter den på utsidan av en dörr, men inte lika bra och om man sätter den på insidan av dörren i ett rum så får man även en bra ljudabsorberande effekt i det rummet gardinen/rumsavdelaren i tyg sitter och det tappar man om man sätter den på utsidan av en dörr. Så insidan dörren brukar i 98% av fallen vara det bästa.
