SilentDirect Polaric by the meter is a professional sound insulation mat with high density, designed to block structure-borne noise, vibrations, and airborne sound in both buildings and vehicles. The product is now sold by the meter with a width of 50cm, giving you full freedom to adjust quantity and format according to your project’s needs. Choose from three different thicknesses – 2mm, 2.5mm, and 4mm – to achieve the right balance between weight, coverage, and damping.

The core of the mat consists of moldable butyl compound that combines high weight with flexibility, making it effective in any acoustic setting where mass is key to sound reduction. The surface is reinforced with embossed aluminum, providing both durability and moisture resistance. The self-adhesive backing simplifies installation, and the material can be easily cut with a knife to fit even the most challenging surfaces.

Moldable, self-adhesive, and easy to work with

SilentDirect Polaric comes with a self-adhesive backing for easy application. The protective film is removed and the mat is pressed directly onto the surface. The material is moldable and easily follows curved or irregular surfaces, making it possible to soundproof even tight spaces such as engine hoods, electrical cabinets, or technical installations.

For long-lasting and secure attachment – especially on ceilings or porous surfaces – it is recommended to supplement with staples, screws, nails, or mounting glue. The product can advantageously be cut into sections to simplify handling and ensure even weight distribution. The self-adhesive surface is sensitive to moisture and should not be mounted on constantly damp substrates without additional fastening.

Create a multi-layer acoustic system with Polaric as the base

For optimal acoustic performance, SilentDirect Polaric can be used as a base layer and combined with other sound-absorbing materials such as SilentDirect Egg or SilentDirect Neo. SilentDirect Polaric is inorganic, mold-resistant, and unaffected by moisture or temperature fluctuations. The aluminum-reinforced surface withstands wear and makes the product suitable even in moisture-exposed environments such as garages, engine compartments, boat hatches, and technical spaces. The material is odorless, releases no fibers, and can be used indoors without risk of allergens or emissions. However, the self-adhesive surface is not intended for continuous water exposure – use glue when installing in wet rooms or on cold surfaces.
